9-Year-old Girl Dragged Almost a Mile by School Bus
A 9-year-old girl caught in the door of a school bus was dragged for almost a mile at speeds up to 35 miles per hour before a motorist cut off the bus driver to make him stop.
Hannah Jackson suffered only minor cuts and bruises. Her arm got caught in the accordion-like door of the bus as she stepped off Wednesday. Her mother, waiting at the stop in a rainstorm, watched helplessly as the bus sped off.
The driver had no idea the girl was caught. The California Highway Patrol said the bus stopped when a motorist driving the opposite direction pulled out in front of the bus to head it off.
