Pavel Bure’s first season with the Florida Panthers is over after 11 games, lost to the second reconstructive surgery on his right knee in less than four years.

The high-scoring Russian had surgery Monday in Birmingham, Ala., to replace the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee.

Bure faces at least six months of rehabilitation, meaning he might not be ready when training camp rolls around in September.

Bure, who sat out the season’s first three months while demanding the Canucks trade him, also missed three weeks in February when the same knee was strained.

The Panthers also learned that Dino Ciccarelli will not return this season because a nagging back injury has not healed.
