Offensive Help for Springfield

The Kings have signed right winger Scott Barney to a three-year contract, and he will join Springfield today to help in its drive to the American Hockey League playoffs.

Barney, 20, had 44 goals and 67 points in 41 games for Peterborough of the Ontario Hockey League.

King radio analyst Cammi Granato received the Lester Patrick Award on behalf of the Olympic gold medal-winning U.S. women’s hockey team. The award also went to 27-year Boston General Manager Harry Sinden.
