Los Alamitos Unified School District trustees last week voted to offer only remedial, rather than enrichment, courses in summer school for kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The board took the action as part of a revised policy that puts greater emphasis on providing more programs for children who are falling behind. The district is also considering offering Saturday and after-school programs to help students.
