The City Council last week voted to accept an $8,320 federal grant to be used for transportation services for senior citizens. The city’s senior citizens committee would like to increase the days of operation. Mayor Mark Goodman cast the dissenting vote, arguing that senior transportation should not be regulated by the city. “It should be run by the county with taxes that we’re already providing,” he said. “It’s a perfect example of the county dumping a program on cities.”
