Esperanza/Sophomore

Put on a dazzling performance in chilly conditions at the Sunset League finals to lead the Aztecs to the team title. She began by defending her titles in the 800 (2:16.25) and the 400 (59.47), then won the 1,600 in a personal-best 5:12.71. Buche, who was slowed by illness earlier this season, capped the evening by anchoring the 1,600 relay to a first-place finish in 4:09.82.
