Teen Gets Juvenile Detention for Threatening Fellow Student
A Palmdale high school student who admitted to threatening another student the day after the Littleton, Colo., school massacre was sentenced Tuesday to juvenile detention, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said.
The 17-year-old boy was ordered by Juvenile Court Judge Chesley McKay to spend 10 days in juvenile lockup, according to district attorney’s spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. He was also placed on home probation.
Under his sentence, the teenager must return to court in one year for review and will remain on probation until an officer determines that he should no longer be detained.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested the Highland High School student after he said the Colorado shooting was funny and intimidated another student.
