* Jim Lyon has joined Lyon Staffing & Training Services in Ventura as a sales representative. He will be responsible for sales, marketing and telemarketing.

The company provides human resource and payroll services to other businesses.

* Dan Lyon, president and CEO of Lyon Staffing & Training Services in Ventura, has been appointed to a one-year term as chairman of the Ventura Parks and Recreation Commission.

Lyon is an active participant in several community events and charities.

* Technicolor, a Camarillo company involved in video duplication and CD and DVD replication, has promoted Carrie Bissell to marketing director for its Packaged Media Group. Bissell will oversee all domestic marketing efforts that support Technicolor’s video duplication and optical disc replication production and sales activities.

She has been with the company since 1995.

* Kathryn Courtney is joining Fresh Directions International in Ventura as the company’s senior director of sales and marketing. She will manage the company’s U.S. sales and marketing strategies, implement new product development and distribution programs, and work with senior management on setting operational budgets.

Courtney was marketing director at Calavo Growers of California, where she worked for 18 years.

* Susan Abundis, Bank of America’s senior vice president and regional marketing executive, has been appointed vice president of finance of the Oxnard College Foundation Board, and vice chair of the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County.

The foundation supports Oxnard College development, student scholarships and education programs. The EDC-VC is a countywide economic development organization representing partnerships between business and government.

* Mustang Marketing and Advertising in Westlake Village has appointed Sharon Moore as senior copywriter. She will write and review advertising copy for all of Mustang’s accounts.

Prior to working for Mustang, Moore was a copywriter for Seminis Vegetable Seeds.
