Is Something Brewin’ in Attack on Walton?

What did Bill Walton ever do to Mark Salz to justify that pit-bull attack on your pages [Viewpoint, May 15]? Walton happens to be my favorite basketball commentator: He’s fearlessly outspoken where others are reflexively butt-kissing, and his undeniable knowledge of the game is always supported with choice samplings from the book of the immortal John Wooden . . . aha!

That must be it. Dollars to doughnuts Salz is a USC Trojan, which would simultaneously explain his vindictive bias and his comical lack of intelligence.
