The City Council tonight will consider competing bids to clean up one of the city’s largest wells. Natural minerals have built up on the sides of the Holder Well, 9120 Holder St., and need to be scraped off. The well produces 1,500 gallons of water per minute but could produce as many as 2,000 gallons per minute once cleaned, city Utility Supt. Frank Heldman said. Beylik Drilling Inc. has bid $30,000 for the job; Layne Christensen Co. has bid $46,000. The council meets at 5 p.m. in chambers, 6650 Beach Blvd. Information: (714) 562-3705.
