Newbury Park’s Chris Lombardo Chooses Oregon

Quarterback Chris Lombardo of Newbury Park committed to Oregon during a recruiting trip to the Pacific 10 Conference school last weekend.

Lombardo has been sidelined since breaking his leg in the second game of the season. He is the fifth senior quarterback from the region to accept an NCAA Division I scholarship.

St. Francis was assessed a 15-yard penalty for excessive celebrating after a horse came onto the field following a Golden Knight touchdown Friday during a homecoming game against Crespi.

“I told [the referee] it was Crespi’s horse,” Coach Bill Redell said. “That horse won’t be back. It’s in the barn permanently.”
