Fox Promotes Executives in Management Reorganization

* 20th Century Fox is reorganizing its executive ranks in the wake of the pending departure of Laura Ziskin, head of its Fox 2000 Pictures unit, who will return to independent movie producing at the end of the year.

Production chief Tom Rothman will be promoted to president of 20th Century Fox Film Group. Reporting to Rothman will be Fox 2000 as well as a newly named unit, TCF, which formerly was the production arm of 20th Century Fox.

Elizabeth Gabler, now a Fox executive vice president, was named president of production for Fox 2000, replacing Ziskin. The studio also named Hutch Parker president of production for TCF.

* Jose Ronstadt, senior news anchor of Los Angeles television station KVEA-TV Channel 52, has been named senior vice president of content for Quepasa.com, a Phoenix-based Internet site for the Latino market. Ronstadt will help guide Quepasa.com’s content development team. He will remain at Telemundo until an on-air replacement is found.

* SBC Communications Inc. has named Lora Watts regional president-Los Angeles of its Pacific Bell subsidiary. She replaces Melba Muscarolas. Watts, who previously was president of Nevada Bell, will be responsible for directing PacBell’s external affairs activities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

* Lowe Enterprises Inc., a Los Angeles-based investment, management and development firm, has named Marshall “Skip” Beck Jr. executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company’s Lowe Enterprises Residential Advisors unit, which administers a $150-million residential investment program on behalf of public pension plans. Beck previously was treasurer of Warmington Homes.
