Edward M. Burch, who was fired as executive director of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce after seven months on the job, has threatened legal action unless he is reinstated or receives a contract buyout.

Burch, who was notified of his termination Friday, said he was let go because of his inability to master a software program that tracks the chamber’s finances, leading to some minor errors.

Chamber President MaryKen Plaia refused to comment, as did several other chamber board members.

Burch, 43, said the group has given him two weeks’ severance pay and is forming a committee to find his replacement.
