Entertainment Industry Execs Join Board of Creative Planet

* Entertainment industry heavyweights Frank Biondi Jr. and Jack Valenti have joined the board of directors of Creative Planet, a North Hollywood firm that creates Web sites for film, photography, design and other industries. Biondi, former chief executive of Universal Studios, is currently a general partner with investment firm WaterView Partners. Valenti is chairman and chief executive of the Motion Picture Assn. of America.

* Spectrum Clubs International, a Los Angeles-based chain of health clubs owned by Brentwood Associates, has named former PepsiCo executive Robert J. Steele chief executive and president. He had been president of PepsiCo’s European division.

* Lisa Crane has been named chief executive and president of Los Angeles-based Soundbreak.com, an interactive music Internet site. Former vice president of NBC Interactive and general manager of NBC.com, Crane will be responsible for strategic direction and growth of the site.

* Jill Bauman has been appointed to the newly created position of regional vice president, Southern California, for M2, the San Francisco-based consultant brokerage. Bauman, who had been the company’s senior regional business development vice president, will now be responsible for strategic alliance development. M2’s Southland office is in Los Angeles.
