One of three men suspected of robbing a Newhall grocery store and killing an employee had been working there as a security guard, authorities said Monday.

Tresierras Market in the 24300 block of San Fernando Road was robbed Oct. 30, and Luis Valdez, 32, a store supervisor, was fatally shot. Assistant Manager Teresa Cano, 42, was wounded. Vincente Godoy, 27, was still employed at the market when he was arrested Friday in Anaheim, said Sgt. Irma Becerra, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The manager of the Newhall store declined comment Monday, and executives at Tresierras corporate headquarters in San Fernando did not return phone calls.
