Eleven students at Sonora High School were named AP Scholars by the College Board for high scores they received on Advanced Placement examinations last May.

The top scholars are Kevin Kaplowitz, Sherly Dehdashtian and Dana Dykier.

Kaplowitz received the AP Scholar with Distinction award for earning an average score of at least 3.5 overall and a 3 or higher on five or more exams. Dehdashtian and Dykier received the AP Scholar with Honor award, recognizing an average score of 3.25 or better and a 3 or higher on four or more exams.

The highest score on an AP exam is a 5.

Eight Sonora students won the AP Scholar award for grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
