Developments Not Coincidental

* How much development is enough?

Given the finite land area in which we live, we will eventually run out of room. Why not stop now, while there is still some open space left?

The duplicity of the toll road backers would be laughable if it weren’t so depressing.

Did anyone really believe that the toll roads were built solely to ease traffic congestion? As is already beginning, development will follow until the roads are bordered completely by master-planned communities, therefore requiring more roads, enabling more development, ad infinitum.

The airport backers cite the need for more capacity, citing the lack of availability of flights out of John Wayne. Is it that much of a sacrifice to fly out of Los Angeles, Long Beach or Ontario?

My position assumes that there is a value in undeveloped, wild land. If the ultimate goal is to completely fill the space between the national forest and the sea, just say so. I’ll start packing.
