SANTA ANA
Jane Russo, area administrator for the Santa Ana Unified School District, was honored as Central Office Administrator of the Year at an education conference Saturday in Anaheim. Russo, a former teacher and principal, oversees 12,000 students in the district.
Among her accomplishments, she served as principal author of the Area II Ford Foundation grant, which brought $600,000 to her schools this year. Russo is a member of the Reading City Committee, the Santa Ana Network Partnership and the Advisory Board of Cal State Fullerton. The award is presented by the Assn. of California School Administrators and represents 15,500 educators throughout the state.
