Singers Offered a Shot at ‘Fame’

“Fame--The Musical” is offering an approximation of fame for 15- to 20-year-olds willing to fling off inhibitions and try out for a walk-on role in the Broadway road show, playing Dec. 11 through Jan. 2 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Auditions will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Crate & Barrel wing of South Coast Plaza (formerly Crystal Court), west of Bear Street in Costa Mesa. Contestants will sing the refrain of the show’s signature hit, “Fame,” and whoever gets the part will appear as a chorus member for one number during the Dec. 23 performance.
