The Long Beach Ice Dogs’ three-game winning streak came to an end when the defending Turner Cup Champion Houston Aeros defeated them, 7-1, in front of 8,125 at the Compaq Center in Houston on Saturday.
Mike Crowley scored the lone Ice Dog goal on an assist from Dieter Kalt at 9:59 of the first. From that point on, it was all Houston. The Aeros scored six unanswered goals, led by Sandy Moger, who registered a hat trick.
