2 Teenage Boys Killed in Vehicle Crash Identified

Two teenage boys killed Saturday morning when the stolen car they were riding in flipped have been identified as Theodore Castillo and Joey Napolee, according to the CHP.

Both were 13 and lived in Lancaster, said Officer Frank Sansone, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred about 11:20 a.m. on Avenue Q east of 110th Street East. The boys were with two other teenage boys, both 14, and a 12-year-old girl, all from Lancaster. They were in a 1994 Mercury Sable that had been reported stolen two hours earlier, according to the CHP.

All five were ejected from the car after it swerved out of control and flipped.

Castillo and Napolee were pronounced dead at the scene. One 14-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and arm. The other 14-year-old and the girl received moderate injuries.

It is not known who was driving.

The crash is under investigation.
