Holiday Closings

The following schedules will be in effect during the Thanksgiving holiday:

* Federal offices will be closed Thursday.

* City, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Superior courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Federal courts will be closed Thursday and open for emergency filings only on Friday.

* City and county libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Banks and savings and loans will be closed Thursday.

* Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Mail: There will be no mail delivery Thursday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: There will be no trash collection Thursday. Pickups will be a day late for the rest of the week, except in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia, Villa Park and Yorba Linda. In those cities, only Thursday pickups will be delayed.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule Thursday. Buses will run less frequently, and some lines may not run at all. ACCESS handicapped services will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. only. Information: (714) 636-RIDE.
