Lungren to Teach at Chapman

Dan Lungren, former state attorney general and U.S. congressman, will join the faculty of Chapman University in Orange next spring.

According to university President James Doti, Lungren--who spent two terms as attorney general and is lecturing at Harvard--will teach one course at Chapman’s School of Law and another in its political science department. In addition, Doti said, Lungren will be a guest lecturer for other courses, speak before community groups and expand the political science department’s internship programs.

“Bringing his perspectives to the university means that Chapman students will have the rare opportunity to learn firsthand about politics, the legal process and the justice system,” Doti said.

Lungren served two terms as state attorney general and, in 1998, ran unsuccessfully for governor.
