ANAHEIM
Construction of the first Byzantine church in Orange County began last Friday at 995 N. West St. Members of the church have been holding services in an Anaheim residence since 1969 but have never had their own facility. Although officially part of the Roman Catholic church, the Byzantine church has traditions dating to the era of Contantinople. The closest Byzantine church is in Phoenix.
