Connecticut Tops Pepperdine

Shea Ralph kept up her torrid shooting on Sunday, scoring 22 points on seven-of-eight shooting to lead No. 1 Connecticut to a 101-58 victory over Pepperdine at Storrs, Conn.

Connecticut (4-0) overpowered the Waves (1-2) from the start, running to 17-6 lead in the first five minutes.

Rasheeda Clark, a Chino High graduate, led Pepperdine with 19 points.

No. 2 Louisiana Tech 84, Weber State 47--Tamicha Jackson scored 22 points as the Lady Techsters (3-1) cruised past the Wildcats (1-2) in the championship of the Lady Rebel Shootout at Las Vegas.

Duke 63, No. 9 Penn State 49--Georgia Schweitzer scored 18 points as the Blue Devils (4-1) held the Lady Lions (3-1) to 27% shooting in the Duke Women’s Basketball Classic at Durham, N.C.

No. 10 North Carolina 72, Arizona State 68--Juana Brown scored with 15 seconds remaining, helping the Tar Heels (3-1) stave off a rally by the Sun Devils (3-1) at Chapel Hill, N.C.

No. 25 Wisconsin 81, Northeastern 80--Jessie Stomski scored 24 points and added 10 rebounds to lead the Badgers (3-1) to a double-overtime victory over the Huskies (2-3) in the Rutgers Classic at Piscataway, N.J.

* No. 17 TEXAS TECH (3-0) at USC (2-0), 7--Both teams are coming off Friday victories. Tashara Carter scored 13 points to lead three players in double figures in the Trojans’ 61-56 win over Creighton. The Lady Raiders held Southwest Texas State without a field for more than 15 minutes in a 102-44 won.
