The average price of gasoline in California rose nearly a penny last week to $1.374 a gallon, the U.S. Energy Department said. Nationwide, the average price of regular self-service unleaded gasoline increased half a cent to $1.274 a gallon. Gasoline prices have been rising for the last month because of higher crude oil prices.
