Leisure World announced the winners of its election for the board managing the gated community’s co-ops Wednesday. Rich Haskell, Don Hill, Harry Schwartz and Art Welch will join the 11-member United Laguna Hills Mutual board.
“My initial concern is to meet people, make friends and try to get more cooperation between mutuals,” said Haskell, a retired engineer and businessman who pulled in the most votes. “But that’s already happening. It’s not quite as strained as six months ago.”
Much of the tension came when the homeowners’ group was deciding how much money to contribute to planned building projects, including a multipurpose building and new tennis courts.
