Fullerton 45, El Modena 3--Fullerton’s Ryan Murray and Daniel Olmos combined for 218 yards and five touchdowns for the host Indians.
The Indians got on the board first on a 62-yard touchdown run by Murray with 4:34 to play in the first quarter. The score held at 6-0 until early in the second quarter when Olmos broke away for a 30-yard touchdown run to put Fullerton up 12-0.
Fullerton began to pick up momentum heading into the half, converting two more touchdowns on a nine-yard run from Olmos and a 15-yard run from Murray, who had sat out much of the second quarter with a knee injury.
El Modena picked up its only score on a 27-yard field goal by Marcos Chavez with 12 seconds left in the first half.
The Vanguards had possession to start the third quarter, but a pass from Kevin Brown sailed and was intercepted by Olmos, who sprinted 20 yards for his third touchdown.
Fullerton (4-1) scored two more times in the third quarter on one-yard runs by quarterback Michael Echaves and running back Jose Zepeda.
