** Pete Townshend, “Live: A Benefit for Maryville Academy,” Platinum. Recorded at Chicago’s House of Blues, this 90-minute-plus set offers expansive takes on solo tunes and Who classics, emphasizing the material’s folk and blues aspects more than the roaring guitars. The band rollicks amiably, despite some cheesy sounding keyboards, and the gravel-voiced Townshend sounds positively gleeful in his blues-shouting moments. On a bonus CD, Eddie Vedder joins in for a goofy “Magic Bus” and a more sober, yearning “Heart to Hang Onto.”
