They’re not-so-modestly describing it as “the quilt show of the century.” And in some ways, it is: Houston’s 25th annual International Quilt Festival this week will be the last one of the 1900s, boasts more than 1,000 quilts and will feature 100 of the “20th century’s best American quilts,” as chosen by organizers.

The annual tribute to American textiles claims to be the world’s largest. Sprawling across the vast George R. Brown Convention Center, this year’s will include about 500 retailers, 35 exhibit areas and 325 classes and lectures spread over four days, next Thursday through Sunday.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult admission is $9. Information: telephone (713) 781-6864 or visit https://www.quilts.com.
