Nearly 30 skateboarders helped plan the future of the city’s skate park Monday night.
“I want vent lamps, curve rails, half pipes and pyramids,” said Matthew Heath, 10, whose head has hidden under a red baseball cap.
After six years of urging from the Parks and Recreation Commission, the City Council agreed to open a 19,000-square-foot skate park in the city. Skaters were invited to give their input on the park’s design.
Dominic K. Oyzon, a designer with purkiss-rose-rsi, the company hired by the city to design the park, said he and his colleagues would come back to the group Nov. 8 with three designs from which city skaters will select a final plan.
