The City Council is considering an idea to put vending machines in city parks to help put as much as $8,000 in city coffers for park maintenance.
The Coca-Cola Co. originally approached the city with the idea 10 months ago. Since then, PepsiCo Inc. has proposed the idea as well. Three other cities Orange, Claremont and Santa have vending machine deals with soda companies. None of the cities have reported any conflicts with groups that sell concessions at parks during their activities.
