LAGUNA BEACH
Parking meters will not be covered for free parking the week before Christmas this year. Instead, the City Council approved a proposal to use the funds generated by the meters to fund the holiday lighting display.
The original proposal outlined plans by the Chamber of Commerce to light three displays in North, South and Laguna proper. However, council members said it would be more aesthetically pleasing to light more trees instead.
Approval for the funding is contingent upon the chamber changing the lighting plans.
