Radio Shock-Jock Stern, Wife Separate

Howard Stern, who bragged of his marital fidelity while entertaining scores of strippers and porn stars on his radio show, has split with his wife of 21 years.

Stern and wife Alison, whose romance was the basis of his film “Private Parts,” are parting as friends, said Dan Klores, a spokesman for the couple.

“Following mediation, both Alison and Howard, who care for each other very much, have amicably separated,” Klores said Friday. “They have come to an agreement and settled all of their concerns.”

The statement made no mention of a divorce. The couple has three daughters.

Stern, 45, often complained to his 10 million daily listeners about his lack of sex life at home. It wasn’t unusual for Alison to call in to the raunchy show and rebut his complaints, although she hasn’t been heard on the air in several months.

Despite Stern’s on-air preoccupation with sex, he repeatedly insisted on his syndicated show that he was faithful to his wife.
