OnePlace.com in Camarillo, a Christian-focused broadcaster on the Web, has purchased AudioCentral.com of Post Falls, Idaho, one of the first companies to offer Internet audio streaming.
“We’re gaining about 5.5 million hits a month with our acquisition of AudioCentral,” said Eric Halvorson, chief operating officer for Salem Communications, which owns OnePlace. “In addition to a uniquely designed gateway that enables individual broadcasters to interact with their listeners, OnePlace picks up Christianbooks.com, which will augment our ChristianSuperstore.net and SonicPlace.com e-mail sites and expand our reach to a brand new audience.”
Since 1994, AudioCentral has been streaming audio over the Internet. It serves radio stations, church services, news feeds and other audio and video programming.
OnePlace will integrate AudioCentral.com’s programming content into its Christian portal OnePlace.com.
Salem Communications is the eighth largest radio broadcasting company in the country.
