SAN CLEMENTE
City Councilman G. Wayne Eggleston’s days of unemployment are over.
Eggleston, who kept busy with his work in local politics and as the executive director of the Heritage of San Clemente museum, is now heading the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum in Newport Beach.
“I’ve been volunteering for two and a half years, so I thought it would be nice to get a job,” he deadpanned.
Eggleston was named executive director of the nautical museum last week after officials from Newport got a firsthand look at his handiwork at the Heritage.
The councilman said that while he is excited about this new opportunity, he will remain active with the Heritage museum in some capacity.
