The Tustin Unified School District Board of Trustees approved a land agreement with the Irvine Co. and school district to purchase 74 acres of land.
The land will be the site of an elementary school in Tustin Ranch and two elementary schools and a high school in West Irvine at a cost of $70 million.
The high school, which will be at Culver Drive and Brian Avenue, is planned to open in fall 2003. A new elementary school on Rollings Way is scheduled to open next fall, and a second elementary school on Travino Drive is supposed to open in fall 2001. A third elementary school in North Park is scheduled to open in fall 2001.
All new school opening schedules are considered tentative.
The $70-million cost will be financed through Mello-Roos taxes and state funding.
