Galloway Has Only One Way to Go

Share

After the trading deadline passed without a deal being made for holdout wide receiver Joey Galloway, it became official that if he plays this season it will be for the Seahawks. The only way for Galloway to get out from under the final year of the five-year deal he signed in 1995 is to report for the final six games this season. By doing so, Galloway would become an unrestricted free agent in February.

The Raiders have been in a pattern of playing to the level of their opponents, especially at home. The Raiders have had two significant victories on the road, against the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills, only to return home and play poorly.

They were fortunate to defeat the Chicago Bears despite five turnovers and the Jets despite giving the ball away four times. They also lost at home to the Denver Broncos, who entered the game winless and with a quarterback who was supposed to be benched that week.

The Chiefs are 4-1 in games in which they grab two or more interceptions. They have done that in the last five games. James Hasty, with four picks this season, grabbed two and returned one for a touchdown last week against the Ravens.

Quarterback Ryan Leaf is expected to return to Charger practice soon. Charger coaches intend to take it easy with him. Leaf is coming off shoulder surgery in July.
