Spirituality Conference Aims to Soothe Millennium Anxiety
The Center for Spiritual Development in Orange is holding a workshop to counteract millennium anxiety. Titled “Hope 2000,” the one-day spirituality conference is from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Nov. 6.
The center promotes the conference as a way to help “transcend . . . millennium anxieties by focusing on the virtue of hope as the gift of this time.” The day will include prayer, ritual and reflection.
Future events include a retreat of up to five days to escape the frenzy before Christmas. The event, called “Hermit Days,” provides participants a room to experience solitude and meals for $10 and $45 a night.
The center is at 434 S. Batavia St., Orange. Call (714) 744-3175.
