The City Council has approved a plan to apply for grant money for several improvement projects.

The request will be made to the Orange County Transportation Authority Transportation Enhancement Activity Program, which provides money to help cities make aesthetic enhancements and capital improvement projects near transportation facilities. OCTA will allocate up to $6.4 million in fiscal 2003-2004 for new projects.

If the city gets the money, it is proposing to use it for the following projects: a wall near a railroad track at the city’s Regional Transportation Center; a park on a section of land near the Santa Ana Freeway on Patricia Lane; landscaping and lighting near a pedestrian walkway at the Regional Transportation Center, and a new bike trail.
