SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Although Monday is Labor Day, a holiday that recognizes workers’ contributions to the nation’s prosperity, the long weekend should be spent relaxing and having fun.

Although most county campground sites are already booked, there’s still plenty to do. How about picnicking at a park or barbecuing at the beach? Seen a flick recently?

If music, rides or good old greasy eats from a street vendor sound good, consider stepping out to Santa Paula, Ventura or Thousand Oaks, where holiday activities are planned.
