POP MUSIC CHARTS : Aguilera’s Album Opens at No. 1

Share

Christina Aguilera’s hit single finally took a dive on the charts, but the teenage singer’s debut album debuted at No. 1 on both the Southern California and national lists. It outsold the second collection from rap icon Puff Daddy, which ranked No. 2 on both charts. The first taste of Garth Brooks’ pop experiment went over well, with the first single from his upcoming album in the guise of fictional pop singer Chris Gaines registering at No. 4 locally and No. 2 nationally.
