Student Held in Stun Gun Attack on Classmate
An eighth grade boy shoved an electric stun gun into a classmate’s chest and triggered it Tuesday, then ran away, authorities said.
A counselor at Hoover Middle School apprehended the 14-year-old suspect after other students and the 11-year-old victim identified him.
The boy had two welts. He was treated and sent home.
The suspect has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon and one charge of possession of a deadly weapon.
Police did not release the names of the victim or the suspect, who is at San Francisco Juvenile Hall.
Last year there were three gun look-alikes brought to San Francisco Unified School District campuses, said Sandina Robbins, a spokeswoman. Tuesday’s attack appeared to be an isolated incident, she said.
