OUTLOOK

Injuries ruined Fullerton last season and Murphy took steps to make sure that wouldn’t happen this season by making a stronger recruiting push. The team is much deeper, especially in the backfield. Hill rushed for 766 yards and scored eight touchdowns last year and Kitchen played in 1997 but was academically ineligible last season. Dameron rushed for 1,457 yards last year at Villa Park High. Gogan will start at fullback after an impressive high school career at Servite. He gained 1,140 yards last season. “That’s really where our depth is this year,” Murphy said. The quarterback situation was in flux all last season and Murphy hopes Garand, who threw three touchdown passes in the final game, will bring consistency to the position this year. The defense is stronger, faster and deeper than last year, when toward the end of the season offensive linemen were pulled over to help out.
