Some Residents to Receive Free Low-Flush Toilets
In an effort to conserve water, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power will deliver free ultra-low-flush toilets Saturday to some residential customers in the San Fernando Valley.
People living within the 91335 ZIP Code bounded by Calvert, Saticoy and Vanowen streets and Tampa and Lindley avenues will receive the new toilets, officials said. Old toilets will be picked up Oct. 9 and recycled.
People who exchange their old toilets for the 1.6-gallon water-saving toilets can save up to $35 a year on their water bill and conserve thousands of gallons of water annually, officials said.
