While it has been embroiled in contract negotiations with its teachers union for about 18 months, the Orange Unified School District board announced that it has come to an agreement for a three-year contract for its service employees after four months of bargaining. “Everyone wins with this contract,” said Barbara Van Otterloo, who became superintendent in August.

The California School Employees Assn., which represents so-called classified employees, including high school secretaries, custodians and maintenance workers, approved the contract with 94% of its voters in support of it.
