Franklin 1 of 5 Telecom Firms Profiled in Fortune

Franklin Telecom in Westlake Village is one of five case studies in a special section on next-generation telephone companies that is included in the Sept. 27 issue of Fortune magazine.

The other companies in the case studies are Lucent Technologies, Clarent Corp., Sun Microsystems and Teligent.

The section includes an overview article tracing the evolution of next-generation voice servers, along with projections for how this segment is expected to develop and expand globally. Other articles examine new communications infrastructures and how to select an appropriate service provider.

The five company profiles were selected to demonstrate various services and applications that are facilitated by emerging technologies.

“Clearly we are gratified that Fortune chose to focus attention on next-generation voice server technology, since this is at the heart of our own product and services line,” Franklin President Peter Buswell said. “Their articles are going to introduce a huge audience to the potential that this technology can offer.”
