Sonoma OKs Ban on Development of Hillside

SONOMA, Calif. —
A ballot measure to protect a hillside in Sonoma from development as a resort has been approved overwhelmingly.
Measure A, which forbids hotel and resort development on 60 acres of city-owned land, was approved with 76.6% of the vote, 2,607 to 795, this week.
A 105-room resort had been proposed on the site.
