FOCUS: ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY NEWS : YORBA LINDA
Main Street shoppers may soon have more convenient parking in the city’s downtown district. The City Council on Tuesday decided to enter into negotiations with the Masonic Temple to swap parking lots.
The Masonic Lodge at 4847 Main St. has a chain link fence around its parking lot because skateboarders and pedestrians using the space could be a liability.
Merchants have complained that the fence makes it difficult for customers to get to their shops. If the swap is approved, the city would remove the fence.
The city’s parking lot is close to the lodge property, but does not have as much access to other streets. The two parking lots will be assessed to ensure that a trade would be fair.
