There’s so much interesting food in San Pedro that one cookbook apparently couldn’t contain it all. That’s why the Friends of the San Pedro Public Library have put out a sequel to their first fund-raising cookbook. The new one is titled “Around the World, Around Our Town: Recipes from San Pedro, Book 2.”

The recipes are as diverse as the many ethnic groups that live in this coastal city. There are several representing the city’s large Croatian community. Other dishes originated in Hungary, Germany, Transylvania, Norway, Greece, Italy, Mexico, China and elsewhere.

San Pedro restaurants also supplied recipes ranging from arni avgolemono (lamb with egg-lemon sauce) as prepared at Papadakis Taverna to the bread pudding served at Olsen’s Restaurant.

This is a large hardcover book with easy-to-read print and a cover that captures the vibrant color of a Mediterranean deli-cafe.
